So I've officially jumped on the bandwagon. Perhaps I'm one of the last ones. This week I read all three of the Twilight series books. In four days. 1800 pages (give or take a few) in four days. That is sooooo unlike me (at least since eighth grade). But I was hooked. I finished the first one in a matter of hours and the second one the next day. The third one I spread out over two days because I realized I'd been neglecting all responsibility......
So I'm a dork now, just like all of my friends who have been talking these books up for months. Now it's my turn. If by some chance, you're reading this and you haven't read the books, stop reading my blog and go buy the Twilight series books. Do it now. You won't be sorry, in fact, you'll love escaping into the world of Bella and Edward. So much fun. And don't let the vampire thing hold you back---after you read these books, vampires will seem as normal as roast beef dinner on Sunday. ;)
And while you're here, if you have read the books, let's have a little book club meeting. Let's talk archetypes--did you think of the comparison between Edward and the Savior? Did you relate to Bella at all? Which Cullen would you want to be? Would you make the same end choice as Bella (which boy would you choose? I'm not sure I would have chose the same one...) Anyways, I can't wait to get these onto the book club list here in Calgary. So much to talk about.

Let me start by saying, I love these books and I'm glad I'm maddly in love with Mike and that Edward is not real (he's not right?). I have to say this before I start typing some of my comments, I love this series and I love Edward.
OK-
Did you think of the comparison between Edward and the Savior? Uh, No. Didn't even cross my mind. Still doesn't?
Did you relate to Bella at all? I loved the chemestry between them, but sometimes I wanted to slap her with a "get with the program" stick. I don't think anyone can be that needy.
Which Cullen would you want to be? I think I'd like to be Alice, the likable person that wants to party and be apart of all the fun, but will always be there for her friends.
Would you make the same end choice as Bella (which boy would you choose? Yes, I think it's meant to be. Besides if the other ever imprints, it wasn't with her, so she'd have to get over him anyway.
I'm interested to see how these end as I'm not sure how I can find a happy ending. I want the best of two worlds for her and I don't know how that can happen.
PS Did find the typos, I love finding things like that. : )
love these books. there is a website where you can find out which character you are. I, of course, and Esme. and we all know these quizzes DO NOT LIE!
I find myself wanting Bella to choose Jacob most of the time....
Haven't read these books. I've heard different things from different people. Interesting to hear that you jumped on the bandwagon. :) Maybe I will have to try it out, lol.
I'm in love with a 100+ year old vampire named Edward! I do LOVE these books. They are intoxicating. I read them voraciously!!! In fact, I was up until 3:00am with "New Moon".
Gramatically speaking, being such a stickler about spelling and sentence structure, I did notice the typos!

Emily,
Let's see if you go back and read old comments. So Lara told me that when the Dallas book club read this almost no one liked the book except for her and Casey Bastian. I wish I could have been there to defend the books. Lara couldn't tell me specifically what complaints people had. She did say some people found Bella annoying and that might be true. But I like the books so much that I'll forgive some flaws. I am completely with you and think the books are deeper than people realize. I think the Cullens are a great example of putting off the natural man. I have noticed a trend that the younger a person was when they fell in love the more likely they are to accept the books. I met Bill at 18. And I know that 18-year-olds are capable of deep emotions. Probably too much to say on a comment you may never read. Ruth
